Additive Manufacturing
A new dimension in production
Additive manufacturing – selective melting of powdered materials (laser melting), also called 3D printing, enables the individual and flexible implementation of components with completely new shapes and functionalities – for example, workpieces with cavities and bionic structures – in just one production step.
This method has the following advantages:
- complex shapes
- weight reduction
- individual production
- low inventory costs, respectively small series
- shorter innovation cycles
Through our material expertise in powder metallurgy, combined with our additive manufacturing research centre, we link our core competence in powder manufacturing with state-of-the-art component manufacturing techniques.
